表扬黑人音乐、体育、演艺界杰出人士的BET颁奖礼，周二晚举行，结果去年的唱片销量冠军得主Kanye West，连夺最佳hip-hop男歌手奖，以及跟R&B歌手T-Pain凭Good Life夺得最佳合唱奖。另外Chris Brown和Alicia Keys分夺最佳男女R&B歌手奖，最佳女演员落在荷尔芭莉（Halle Berry）身上，丹素华盛顿（Denzel Washington）则荣膺最佳男演员。不过在颁奖礼上的真正主角，却是民主党总统候选人奥巴马（Barack Obama），不少来宾都表态支持他，包括Alicia Keys。
提起Kanye West，他早前出席Bonnaroo音乐节时迟到2小时，结果令Fans鼓噪，但他日前在个人网页上撰文反击，怪责主办单位控制节目流程出问题，容许之前Pearl Jam表演超时个多小时，害他延迟出场，另外亦不满当时愤怒乐迷的表现，觉得是他有史以来受过最大的羞辱。
